The Law Office of Deni C. Pifer, PC, is a boutique law firm located near the pulse of uptown Charlotte off East Boulevard. We practice in the areas of estate planning and administration to help clients plan, preserve, and pass on their hard-earned assets to their loved ones. We accomplish this through thorough estate planning, estate administration, asset protection, business succession, business formation and more. Our focus is on achieving the results that our clients want and in minimizing attorney, court and tax fees.

We service both North Carolina cities such as Charlotte, Ballantyne, South Park, Gastonia, Monroe, Denver, Hickory, Statesville, Huntersville, Concord, Pineville, Matthews, Mooresville, Shelby and others throughout Mecklenburg County, Gaston County, Cabarrus County and Cleveland County. In addition, we serve clients in South Carolina, such as Clover, Fort Mill, Gastonia, Indian Land, Lake Wylie, Newport, Rock Hill, and Tega Cay. Deni Pifer was finishing her M.B.A. at Winthrop University at the time of her mother’s death from cancer at her young age of 51. During this time, she took an elective course in Estate Planning and was instantly intrigued with the idea of helping people going through life’s biggest tragedy – the death of a loved one. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and became a member of the SC State Bar in 1997 and a member of the NC State Bar in 1999. She opened the Law Office of Deni C. Pifer, PC in 2003, married her husband Bobby in 2004 and has since had two children who are now teenagers. In addition to NC and SC State Bar Associations, Deni’s professional memberships include The American Bar Association (Member, Trust and Estate Law Section), Charlotte Estate Planning Council, Mecklenburg County Bar Association (Member, Estates, Trusts and Probate Law Section), National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, Queens University of Charlotte Instructor, CFP Estate Planning Course, 2004 & 2005; and Member of Planned Giving Advisory Committee at Wingate University.

Courtney B. Lockerman

Attorney – Licensed in NC and SC

Courtney Lockerman was born and raised in Charlotte. She graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Accounting. After graduation, Courtney worked as a financial accountant for Wyndham Capital Mortgage – a mortgage lender based in the SouthPark area of Charlotte. While she enjoyed this professional role for more than five years, Courtney decided to pursue a legal career – something she had considered since high school. Courtney graduated from Elon University School of Law and became a member of the NC and SC State Bars shortly thereafter. Prior to joining Deni in estate planning and administration, Courtney’s legal practice focused on residential and commercial real estate. When she’s not at the office, Courtney appreciates her family time. She married her sweetheart in 2010, and she currently has two children – Annabelle and Beck.

Ashley Harrison is a native Charlottean. She graduated from Furman University with a BA in Political Science. After graduation, she moved to Atlanta and began working for Alston & Bird LLP as a Paralegal in the Products Liability group. She moved back to Charlotte and joined Alston & Bird’s Charlotte office as a paralegal in the Intellectual Property Group. She has two teenaged daughters that keep her busy. She enjoys exercising, being with friends and family, exploring all of the new restaurants in Charlotte and traveling.

Lisa Dunning has lived in North Carolina since 1987.  She graduated from UNC Charlotte with a BA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  After graduation, she married her husband, John, moved to Winston-Salem and began working as a Legal Assistant for the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office.  In 2003, she and her husband moved back to Charlotte and she left work to stay at home with her son Matt and daughter Kate.  She re-entered the workforce when her children went to college.  When Lisa is not at work, she enjoys playing tennis and travelling with her family.
